Review for: Saving Zoë

Genre: YA

Saving ZoëAs if starting her freshman year in high school wasn't bad enough, Fifteen-year-old Echo has to deal with finding closure from the brutal murder of her older sister, Zoë.

It isn't until Zoë's former boyfriend shares Zoë's diary with Echo that she realizes Zoë had a lot more secrets than she expected. As she reads the entries in her diary, the truth is set free.

I found myself engrossed in the storyline and eager to know more about Zoë and her sister Echo. An awesome story about loss, love and redemption.

Two thumbs up!

Review for Dreamland

Genre: YA

Another fabulous read in the Riley Bloom series. Riley goes on a quest in hopes to find a way to contact her sister Ever. But is she able to break through the nightmare to reach her?

In the Riley Bloom series, author Alyson Noel does an awesome job at introducing life after death. With three-dimensional characters and a heartfelt longing to reach her sister, Dreamland makes for a compelling read.

I'm very much looking forward to the next adventure, which takes her to…sorry I can't say. Let's just say it's a very exciting place and I can't wait to go on the journey with her!

Riley's finding that the afterlife can be a lonely place when all you do is focus on work. So she goes to the place where dreams happen, hoping to find a way to contact her sister, Ever. She meets the director, who tells her about the two ways to send dreams. As a Dream Jumper, a person can jump into a dreamer's dream, share a message, and participate.

As a Dreamweaver, an entire dream can be created in a studio and sent to the dreamer. But Dreamweaving was outlawed decades ago, and the studio was boarded up. Thinking it's her only way to reach out to her sister, Riley goes in search of the old studio. There she finds a ghost boy, who's been creating and sending nightmares to people for years. In order to stop him and reach out to Ever, Riley is going to have to confront and overcome her own fears.

Polishing the PUGS is a great tool for writers. In this user-friendly guide, freelance editor Kathy Ide has composed many common mistakes writers make. (Thank you, Kathy!)

The handy table of contents makes it easy access when you're trying to find an answer quickly. Very helpful. And there's even a spot to jot down notes at the end of each section.

I give this writer's guide two thumbs up.
